This week, I did pretty well in terms of spending time with my loved ones. Took Monday off to bring Yinghong to roller-blade in East Coast Park.We had a tremendous time there - bought Mcdonald's drive-thru breakfast; and also taking our time to wash up and changed clothes in the EMPTY changing facilities before heading to Takashimaya to catch her WINX CLUB show (twice!) while shopping intermittently to get a birthday present for Peishan and some clothes for myself . :)
I am glad I made the tough decision to take Wednesday off. Brought dad for a morning walk at the "Henderson Wave" bridge; then met my younger brother, his girlfriend (these 2 are here from Guangzhou for holiday) and my mum and headed to town for a few activities - Lunch, walk and took pictures in Raffles Hotel, and walked to the Singapore Flyer where brother & Sue took a ride on the Flyer and I had a 30mins of FISH SPA treatment - which is so ticklish and so much fun too! - for only $28!
And we all ended the day with dinner at Long Beach seafood restaurant in East Coast Park to celebrate Peishan's 12th birthday.....
Can't believe my niece is already 12! This is the age at which she will start to grow distant, and start to spend more time with her friends and take her friends' words more seriously than her family's . She's a sensible girl so not much to worry about. But the girl hardly smile, and is a tad too anxious about studying to get good grades... sigh.. Well.. I should be happy she will take care of her own school work and work her way through her PSLE exams this year.
Seeing Peishan brings me to another thought.. the character of a child really show the influence of his/her parents and family environment. My cousins (Zing and Fanny) are such cheerful, warm, and happy-go-lucky girls because their parents are such, YingHong is a rather happy girl because BC always play and joke with her. I really believe Peishan rubs off the "serious" personality from her dad. I am not judging or saying if it's a good or bad thing.. but I will be definitely happy to see her smile more and be more relaxed and more spontaneous.
